Predicting Response of Constructed Tunnel to Adjacent Excavation with Dewatering

چکیده

This paper proposes a new method for predicting the displacement and internal force of constructed tunnels induced by adjacent excavation with dewatering. In this method, total excavation-induced additional stress on tunnel is derived superposing stresses unloading dewatering effects. The effect calculated using Mindlin’s solution. principle effective Dupuit precipitation funnel curve. With beam elastic foundation then used calculating caused Based three well-documented case histories, performance proposed verified. Moreover, parametric analysis also performed to capture effects depth, tunnel-to-excavation distance, initial water level, plan view size, specific yield responses tunnels. results indicate that depth maximum vertical displacement, bending moment, shear more significant at an greater than cover tunnel. decrease nonlinearly increase in distance level. Among investigated parameters, dimension longitudinal direction affects most responses. becomes obvious as increasing level depth.

Finite Element Method Analysis of Influence on Subway Tunnel Adjacent to Excavation by Excavation Construction

The interaction influence on subway tunnels adjacent to foundation excavation was produced by excavation construction, and it is great significance for the correct assessment of its size and influence on the safety of subway operation. Based on the foundation excavation project, some typical foundation excavation profiles are selected, the calculation and analysis on additional settlement and h...

An Investigation into the Performance of Excavation with Inclined Struts Connected to Adjacent Buildings

One practical excavation support system is the inclined struts connected to adjacent buildings. This method is very common in small excavations, because of simplicity and minimum cost, when soil is cohesive and depth of excavation is less than stability depth (Hcr) but adjacent structures is at risk of damage due to weakness, old age or lack of proper skeleton frame. Although this method ...

Assessment of Tunnel Excavation on Surface Settlement

The expansion of underground structures is important in urban areas with high population density. In most large cities in the world, urban development is spreading along the structures. These structures are generally located at shallow depth; therefore study of shallow tunnels in urban areas is critical for development. During the excavation of tunnels in urban areas, creating the asymmetric se...

A Neural Network Expert System Developed for Predicting the Ground Settlement and the Damage Assessment of Adjacent Structures Due to Tunnel Excavation

Ground movements during tunnel excavation are varied in magnitude and trend depending on several factors including the tunnel geometry, ground conditions, excavation methods, and support measures, etc. There exist several empirical and semi-empirical formulas available for predicting ground movements. These conventional methods, however, do not simultaneously take into consideration all the fac...
